The Brazilian Blowout, it’s really a GAME-CHANGER.

There’s nothing better than a good hair day, right? Such a confidence booster. Personally, I’m very specific with my hair- it must have a little body, a light, beachy wave, and ZERO frizz. Think Victoria’s Secret fashion show hair.

So, let’s chat about the Brazilian Blowout, shall we? To be completely honest, I had the treatment done years ago ( back when it was new and all the rage ), and I really was just “meh” about it. It wasn’t anything I could not live without. But here’s the thing, I gave the blowout another chance after talking with a girlfriend who swears by it- she practically booked my Brazilian ( blowout, not wax lol ) for me. So I decided I’d give it one more try… and OMG, I’m never looking back.

The treatment is quick and efficient, I’m in-and-out of the salon in an hour, I walk in frizzy, and walk out sleek. I do have fine hair though, so those with thicker hair will have to take longer ( worth it, promise ).

To start, it’s a cleansing wash with a shampoo product that ultimately strips your hair of any product buildup that’s weighing your hair down. Important side note, make sure you get your Brazilian AFTER your color, not before, the bleach in your color will strip your Brazilian treatment, and we definitely do not want that.

Second, after your wash, the treatment is applied to the hair while wet, and then it’s time to rough blow dry the treatment in.

Third, it’s time to seal the deal with the flat iron. Your stylist will flat iron the treatment into your hair, which really seals the keratin into the hair cuticle. So, your hair will be completely straight when leaving the salon.

So here’s the thing, if there’s ANY downfall about the Brazilian Blowout, it’s that it’s a fume-y treatment. If you’re really sensitive to fumes, proceed with caution because it can get strong. Sometimes my stylist has me wear goggles, not kidding!

And that’s really it! After your hair is flat ironed, you’re done! Your treatment is in, and good to go. You’ll want to wait to wash your hair for a few days, just to let the treatment really sit on your hair. Oh, and be sure to use sulfate free shampoo to maintain your Brazilian for as long as possible.

Here’s the benefits of the Brazilian Blowout:

– yes PLZ

– So if you have wavy or curly hair, your hair will still be wavy, it will just have NO frizz!

– No need to blow dry, no need to hot iron. It’s shower and GO!

– This is a biggie. The amount of time I save by not having to heat process my hair is worth every penny. I can shower, air dry my hair and have it look like I spent hours. Done and done, really a no brainer.

– Your hair will become so much healthier because you’ll dramatically reduce head processing. You’ll notice growth, less fly-aways, and improvement in the overall texture. YAS!

Will you try the Brazilian Blowout? If you do, please, please, please tell me how much you’re obsessed with it, because I know you will be!

As always, thank you for reading and following SB! Happy Friday, girls!
